On August 7th, Carsten Svaneborg will kick off a new series of PhyLife talks for the fall semester of 2023. The talk will be held in Lykeion at 11.00-12.00.
Title: Computational Polymer Physics.
Abstract: I will illustrate how we use computational methods to study polymer physics in particular how topology in melts gives rise to mechanical properties, how we can separate the elastic contributions due to topology and network structure in polymer networks / rubber materials. I will put this into a biophysical perspective discussing some biopolymers and the topological structure of DNA in the cell nucleus.
